I'm running Bridgestone Blizzaks on our Expedition, and as far as winter traction in snow, they absolutely rock.
I currently have Sottozero 3s on our Mach-E Premium AWD Extended Range, but these are abysmal. Sottozero 3s have zero improvement in traction, cornering, or braking in snow. Just complete garbage.
I'd like to put Blizzaks on our Mach-E, but every online tire shop says they're not compatible, largely citing the Service Description "100S" and Load Range "SL" as being incompatible with the Mach-E.
The funny thing is, on Bridgestone's website, the Blizzaks DMV2s are listed as compatible with the Mach-E.
So I did some digging, and I looked at the regulatory sticker on the side of the driver B pillar on our Mach-E.
It lists the Max weight on the rear as 3225 lbs (1612 lbs per wheel), and front as 2660 lbs (1330 lbs per wheel).
The Blizzaks are listed with a Load Index of 100S (1764 lbs). So well within the range.
Speed rating is S (112mph), which is fine because I generally never go over 100mph anyway.
Just looking for some feedback here. My guess is tire installers (like discount tire) are just looking to avoid liability at all costs without actually doing any math on case-by-case basis.
