Broken Air Vent

This broke on my '21 Premium right around August when my 3 year warranty was up, when passenger was just redirecting the air. Didn't have time to bring it in till yesterday. Apparently whole dash has to come off to replace and it will cost $800 due to labor. Dealer is checking whether Ford will offer financial assistance since I am out of warranty. Grr.

Seems odd that removing the dash hasn't been mentioned by any else.

Update: dealer service agent called Ford and argued with them a bit, so now they are going to be able to repair for around $60. Better than $800. Still annoying.

Hi from Down under just purchased car Same problem same spot both passenger vents were they clip into the center piece broken MY 2023 taking it back to dealer wish I had joined this forum earlier

My buddy has a 21 Premium and just asked me if I had any issues with broken air vents as his just broke. The plastic is kind of flimsy. Anyone else have this issue

My '21 Passenger side AC vent broke also. The wife was pointing it away from her face, and it just broke on the inside edge of the vent. So frustrating. The car is in for warranty work (again), and they are saying it's not covered. I am Escalating the issue to Ford, but not hopeful. Very unhappy with the number of trips to the Service department. Will update on the results of the appeal.

Hi, NEWBIE here.. 2022 mme premium awd x model. Put 22's on it and looks like a Lambo!::: but Lambo's air vents don't collapse do they? Mine did. Very disheartening. Bought from a South Bay Ford dealer.. who told me " oh you probably inadvertently broke it.".. yea right. I'd mention the dealer but I don't think I can. Very very poor workmanship and should be a class action for a recall imho

They ended up fixing it under warranty.

It will just happen AGAIN IMHO!Poor flimsy design.... plastic by Playskool. Very disappointing in a $60k car. ... or any modern car for that matter. Ford should step up and recall with a fix.

this is such a common issue that I do hope ford does a courtesy for you

I have a 2021 and the vent hinge just broke. Were there any improvements to these parts over the years?

Should I look for replacement parts made after a certain year?

Same issue in my 2021 California Route 1. Glued it. Not the best but looks better.
