Hey all,

I just had to replace the cabin coolant heater on my 2022 Premium. The car wouldn't start one evening while out for dinner, so I had it towed to my dealer. They diagnosed it and, outside of a week-long part delay, quickly fixed the issue. I'm just curious how common of a failure this is on this car. Has anyone else had this happen? I'm only asking because I haven't seen much conversation about that part failing on this forum.

What kind of messages did you get, if any? It seems odd that a heater failure would inhibit starting the car.

It just said, "Stop Safely Now." The LVB and Stop Safely icons were both lit. My Ford Pass App and the screen did not have any other information. I suspected the problem was the LVB, as did the dealer initially. It wasn't until they tried charging it that they identified the heater issue. At that point, I received a "Powertrain Malfunction" and "High-Voltage Battery Warning" on FordPass, but I don't know if those errors were due to troubleshooting or the problem itself.

The one silver lining was the tow truck operator knew exactly what he was doing to tow this car. Or maybe the fact that he has had to tow the MachE before isn't a good thing
