CarPlay always defaults on startup

Whenever my iPhone connects at startup, my info screen immediately switches to CarPlay. Is there any way to stop this from happening?

It drives me crazy - I'll have the radio on or a map displayed from my last session and then *boom*, I'm switched to the CarPlay screen.

I've seen this too but not look always. Haven't figured out the common cause.

You can do one of two things:
1. Remove your car from CarPlay in your phone’s settings. (settings > general > Car Play > select your vehicle > toggle Car Play off. )
2. Disconnect your phone from CarPlay on the Ford Sync screen. (Select Phone and you’ll see icons for connection to Phone, Bluetooth Audio and CarPlay, tap the CarPlay icon to disconnect it).
If you only want to turn it off temporarily, just turn off Wi-Fi on your phone. It will ask if you want to disconnect CarPlay, and say yes.
