But seriously, Ford doesn’t want to give earlier MME models Tesla Superchargers in the built-in nav, nor global charge limits, nor the updated IPC, etc. I seriously doubt they will give us CarPlay Ultra.

Besides, the elephant in the room that the video didn’t cover: Android phone users. Is Ford going to go through the effort of adding this to their vehicles and piss-off roughly half their customers? Sure, Google has their own version, so now OEMs can triple their software development costs: native, CP U and AA. Seems unlikely that many will go there, but time will tell. (When it came out, I thought the Apple App Store was a dumb idea, so clearly I’ve not always been a good prognosticator?)

Remember, ford’s next gen experience is Google automotive, as discussed in the other thread, so. As explained in the other thread, they could just layer CarPlay ultra on top of Google automotive. ?

But seriously, yes please. Ford make good cars (minus HVBJB) but lacks understanding of software, Apple the opposite. Together it could be quite a thing.

After my road trip today I’ll stick with Ford Navigation over CarPlay. Sent me to stations not within the blue Oval network and also Tesla stations which don’t work with Ford and the Tesla NACS Adapter. Apple needs to step up.

I think the issue is operator error. When you use CarPlay, did you go into settings and let in know you have a Mach-E and a Tesla adapter?

Yes, but it still suggests Tesla supercharging stations which aren’t able to connect with a Ford/Tesla adapter

I'd be happy if the Sirius radio wasn't interrupted every time my wife browses her phone while I'm driving her car and CarPlay is connected to HER phone. It's annoying AF

I use Android, but my understanding is that you connect to the vehicle and then go into settings in the interface.

You should be able to disconnect her (music/phone browsing sounds), I'm at work at the moment but when I get back into the car I will take a picture of where the setting is for that.

Rick is correct. The car should be found after connecting the phone through CarPlay. In the Maps App, click on your icon near the search maps spot, then click vehicles. If you click on mach-e, you can add charging networks and the like. Mine has mach-e and Sync 3 listed as vehicles. The latter is our 2020 Raptor.
