2024 Premium 1900 miles. Drove the car all day down to about 15% charge. Plugged into home charger (hardwired Tesla charger with adapter) and car wouldn’t maintain charging. Start and stop charging in app and heard the car clicking and then resetting to try again.
Ultimately it threw a charge fault error in the app and amber charge light.
Tried to move the car and I got the stop safely message, red battery and red exclamation on dash. Car would not go into gear, the dial was locked in park. I had full accessory mode.
Called roadside and went back out to the car to prepare for tow and it started without the error. Attempted to charge again and it was still starting and stopping.

Canceled roadside and drove it the dealer. Saw the tech today who said they don’t see anything wrong and it was charging. Suggested my charger was bad. This is highly unlikely since I would get Tesla charger warnings and I’ve used this for a couple years on the MME and a Model 3. Possible my adapter is bad, but it has worked to date and nothing visibly wrong with it.

Tech said he was applying a bunch of updates over night, but I had received the 10.1.1 in December, as well as several others early December. Expected to continue updates through the night and I should be able to pick up tomorrow.

At this point I’m wondering what others think may be the issue, and what to expect from Ford (warranty for updates or charge or …)

Similar story here overnight. I charged my 2023 GTPE to 100% overnight. This morning’s showed it reached its charge fine. But then an hour later I had a departure time set of 7am. When that kicked on to start warming the car, it threw a charging fault error. Unplugged and attempted to start car and I got full accessory mode, but a big red warning to ‘stop safely’ car would not shift out of park.

An hour later, everything is back to normal and the car is starting and driveable. Though I’m leery of driving it.

it did get to -15 degrees overnight. The coldest it’s ever experienced. But otherwise it’s been fine.

Cheap adapter?
Thinking this may be the issue., but does a charge fault immobilize the vehicle for a period of time?

What's are best recommended adapters for the Tesla wall charger?

I've used the TeslaTap Mini 80 on my Lightnings with Destination chargers on multiple occasions. I'm presuming it will work on our Mach-e, but haven't had the opportunity as yet.

The fault should be clear after a short period. If not, there is a thread about clearing it. I can find it if you need it.

If you need an adapter for your Tesla home charger, A2Z’s Stellar adapter is very good and priced right - $108 ($102.60 with code FORDFORUM). https://a2zevshop.com/collections/charging-adapters/products/a2z-stellar-plug?ref=Typhoon

I’d be curious to see that thread if you can find it. I don’t mind replacing my charger. I’ve heard nothing but issues with the supplied Ford mobile one. But the fact that the car was disabled freaked me out a bit.

Very Similar issues this morning. Car was plugged in last night for cold north Alabama temperatures. App told me at departure time the vehicle has charged to 70% as expected and cabin temperature was ready and battery conditioned for departure. Except when I got in, cabin cold bunch of fault lights including stop safely now and HVB was not at 70%, etc. I left doors unlocked and waiting for warmer temperatures today then I will go disconnect 12v for a few minutes to see if it resets as the app still shows no warnings.

wonder if Ford pushed an update causing some of us these issues?

Got my car back from dealer. They concluded it is a charger issue, so I'll work back from there.
They did apply 12 module updates that corrected at least one issue I had with the radio tuner. So there was a silver lining. Not sure why I had all the current OTAs but still need these module updates.
They did share that another charge code threw while test driving, and it wasn't in their manual. They contacted Ford and were told to disregard.
Very good experience with Ford service.
Now waiting on my A2Z adapter. I guess they are on a 2 week backorder

You can use your level 2 Tesla charger at home with your Ford Mach-E if you get a A2ZEV NACS to J-1772 adapter like the A2Z Stellar AC adapter.

This is the same adapter you will use for Tesla destination chargers commonly found in hotels / Parking lots / Shopping centers and Airbnb. This is a much better option than using level 1 charging.

You will need the DC Level 3 Typhoon Pro adapter to charge your Rivian at eligible Tesla Superchargers.

You can bundle the A2Z Stellar AC Level 2 Tesla to J-1772 adapter for $99 additional after discount

You might have to update the setting for non-Tesla compatibility on your Tesla home charger.

Feel free to use the below links or forum discount code "FORD" to save on products sold on A2Z website and get free shipping.

A2ZEV NACS To J1772 adapter (Hotel Destination Charger for Hotels / Shopping centers) | Up to 80A | 20kW | 12 Months Warranty

I had the same experience this morning. Charged to 90% overnight, but got a charge fault when car began conditioning for departure. Jumped in and got a "stop safely" as you did. I decided to detach the low voltage battery and let it sit for a bit to reset. This seemed to do the trick. No issues on my 130 mile roundtrip work commute.
