Why is the EVSE that came with the car being replaced? Did that not work with your car either? Have you successfully charged via L2 anywhere?

It worked just fine for over a year. It's all I used but it stopped charging and Ford said it had failed and would be replaced.
But when??? Thus, the Chargepoint.

The ChargePoint should not need the internet, one of my CP units is in my detached RV garage and it drops the internet all the time, but still works. Did you go through the Bluetooth setup on the phone app when you powered it up? Making sure to set it to Plugged In and 50A circuit breaker.

I would double check all the connections in the EVSE, you should have had to connect all those manually. In particular there is that small connector that has the communication bus, I would disconnect that and reconnect it.

Thanks for everyone's comments and help. The problem has been resolved. When I went back into the unit to check connections, I found that the small white plug was shipped unplugged. It looked somewhat like a wire connector so I ignored it. Plugged it in all all is fine.
Thanks again.
