Today I was out and about with some time to spare so I decided to try to find a charging station on south side Savannah, GA. The Snyc app performed flawlessly identifying 4-5 stations within a mile or so. It noted that several of the Charge Point stations were free! I go to the closest and it’s in a small hotel parking building. I found it... blocked by two non EVs. I decided for the heck of it to try the Charge Point card in my “wallet” and it worked. I left in search of others close by in other lodging facilities and could not find them. Rather than give up, I knew the Benz and BMW dealers down the street had them too... they were on the list provided. So I went to the BMW shop, asked if I could give their CP a try. Graciously, the sales guy said sure. So I pulled up to the station and all the BMW guys came out to look at my MME. The “BMW Genius” said he was told they weren’t working but I was free to try. Pulled out my iPhone, dbl click to get the Charge Point card, hold next to the proper spot and bingo! I’m in business. Plugged in and we chatted for a bit. Unplugged at 26minutes @ 6kw/hr with 8 miles added. I thought that was a little low but it turns out to be about 20 miles/hr. I know this is “old hat” for many of you, but it was my first time in my first EV. On the whole, it worked pretty dang good in my book. Cheers!
