The early controllers were nothing more than physical blade switches connecting more or less batteries in series for higher/lower voltageI am not quite sure how the car speed was regulated. It is possible there was some sort of motor/commutator which actually produced DC pulses. The longer the pulse width, the more electricity is sent to the motor. An easy answer would be to use a load bank, but that would waste a lot of power. I can picture a device to do this in my head using a rotating cylinder. Do any of you fine forum members know?
