I'm not really sure if this is a problem or not, so I'll just describe what happened.

I went to work and parked at the charger I normally park at, started it, and walked to work (about 2 blocks away). Its a chargepoint 6kW L2 charger and I'm able to monitor it remotely (via its app and/or the chargepoint website). an hour or so later, I happened to check on the website, and there was a spike up to 6kw and a few minutes later it fell to zero. both chargepoint and fordpass claimed charging was complete, at 53%. according to chargepoint a total of 0.0360 kWh was delivered, and fordpass didn't record anything (when I checked later. I've noticed it apparently requires at least 1% to log anything, based on another time I only plugged in long enough to get a charger added as an 80% location for future use).

So I walked back over there to see what was going on, the charger and the car (blue light ring) gave the appearance of charging still in progress, though pressing details on the chargepoint pillar said 0.00kw being delivered. As an experiment, I wanted to see if I could fix this remotely if it happens again, so I stopped charging via the chargepoint app, but it didn't make "start charging" available until I physically unplugged and plugged back in. it didn't make me return the cable to the holster at least. Everything seemed to be going again, so I walked back to work.

After I got back, about ten minutes or so later, I got a notification that my car had been updated to 6.2.0. So, i'm assuming this is what caused charging to stop. I'm assuming from chargepoint's side, they said "complete" because the car wasn't drawing power anymore. I'm not sure why fordpass said complete, unless it uses the same logic. It didn't indicate there was some update in progress, but then I didn't really look around either. charging kept going and I didn't have to walk back over there again. I'm not sure how much delay there might be between the update actually occurring and fordpass telling me about it, so maybe the update was already done when I restarted the charging.

So now I'm wondering if charging would have resumed on its own if I'd just waited longer. I was also surprised that the update occurred when it did, as I've set updates to 1am, but then I noticed the text that only "have to be parked" updates use the schedule. This could be a problem if I didn't happen to notice and I was relying on that charge to get me home, so I'm hoping it would have auto resumed.

It sounds like the actual installation of the update interrupted the charging. Would it have restarted on its own? Good question.

The update schedule only applies to updates that make the car undriveable during update. 6.2.0 is not one of those.
