Charging location in FordPass

I would like to understand the location feature in the Manage EV section. Mine only shows the factory charging locations. I can‘t delete or modify them And thereby can’t set charging limits on my home charging. Is the feature only for commercial charging and we should ignore it?

Setting limits on your home charger is different than finding chargers via the FordPass via either the map or charging location search.

When you car is charging at home (or anywhere ... you could be at an office, etc.) the car knows it's location. You can set a charging schedule based on that location.

In FordPass go to:

Vehicle -> Charge Times ->

From here, you can see "Saved Locations" and "Previous Locations"​

Pick "Previous Locations"​

This will show your recent/previous locations where you have charged (whether or not they show up on the FordPass list of known stations).

Pick a location from the list and you should see a map with a marker showing the specific spot. You'll also see it will let you define the max charge level and schedule (charing times) when at that location. If you apply any settings and "Save" then it will show up on your "saved locations" list.

All locations will default to charging anytime and charge to 100% unless you apply settings.

Also... there is a bit of wiggle room in how geographically close you need to be ... I think Ford told me that if you are within 100 meters of the geo-location then it will use those same settings.

Doesn’t solve the problem of setting home as my charging location. Previous on;y shows Mexico factory. Can‘t delete or edit them to create a new location. Seems very useless part of a mostly useless app

If you check "Saved Locations" do you already have your home saved? The "Previous Locations" list only shows locations where the car has charged but which have not been saved.

You can also create the saved location for your home on the screen in your car while it is charging (which is how I initially set mine.)

In other words, you must begin a charge session, even if only for a minute, at your home before you can save the location.

My car did not have the Mexico factory listed, only the car dealer.

For what purpose? You can use accessory mode if you start while charging.
