Had the same fault with both my MME's.
Anyone else had their complete charging port replaced, mine started sticking taking several attempts to open then completely failed, service dept replaced now works great again!
The fault I believe is a very poorly thought out & implemented system, to my mind should have been an elec/door/cover system (which would also stop kids popping it open for Fun) + a more robust latching system
Also my fault stems from having the MME plugged in charging from Solar PV for very long periods (Just not feasible/practical to only plug the MME in every time the sun shines). So that the latching mechanism is exposed to the weather especially blown Dust/Sand etc (must be a real nightmare in other dustier countries).
So went and bought a cover on Amazon, really looked the part ie a large winsock that covered the whole charging port door/plug etc

Then DOH..... Never even gave it a second thought, the darned wing is plastic! Those magnets to hold it in place had no chance hehe. Anyways I now have a nice WindSock on a linepost. Regards All.
