Been considering getting a Ford MME, but a little concerned about the charging times and costs.

In comparing the Tesla MY (long range) and Ford MME (AWD extended range) using ABRP (some semi-random trips):
ChargesTotal Charge TimeCost
From Richmond, VA to Orlando, FLTesla MY61hr 18mins$26
Ford MME42hr 36mins$72
From San Francisco, CA to LA, CATesla MY236mins$21
Ford MME255mins$39
From Chicago, IL to New York, NYTesla MY51hr 44mins$26
Ford MME52hrs 42mins$77
From Washington, DC to Indianapolis, INTesla MY458mins$18
Ford MME31hr 44mins$57

In any case, I understand the Ford MME is new and is expected to take a little longer which will hopefully improve over time. But there's also a big cost differential.

Was wondering if anyone else has any thoughts about this. I'm really interested in the MME, but this is giving me a little pause.

Thanks in advance!

How were those calculated? What price was considered? For EA, is the Pass+ price being used or the non-member price?

The real question, though, is how much do you road trip anyway? If this is a trip or two a year, the costs is fairly small. Most people charge at home 95% of the time.

ABRP is not accurate for the MME. It's best to do your own math for the next year until they can collect more data. I don't think it's responsible of them to post these kinds of estimates w/o HUGE disclaimers on every screen.

I took a quick look and see 2 things:
1) Efficiency used for the MME is 4.08KM/KWH while it uses 5.05 for the MY
2) Selecting Tesla superchargers seems to give incredibly cheap charging rates. I have no idea if this is reality?

ETA: For the MME, I calculated a cost of about 0.49 per KWH on EA stations. I don't know how they come up with that. Members should pay 0.31 and non-members 0.43.
