If the collision warning was easy to test, there would be dozens of posts on this site complaining about how it’s too sensitive and bugging people all the time.

If you do not get the collision warning from the car, it likely means you are driving correctly. I don’t see a reason to test it out to prove it will work.
If your bumper sensors are otherwise working for things like adaptive cruise control, then you could assume the collision warning will appear, should you ever need it.

Just the other day, I was exiting the Turnpike here in FL, and some random person decided to walk across the off-ramp not very far in front of me. The collision warning did pick-up the person walking in my path. I was able to slow and steer around the walker. No harm done, but it was a little exciting for a moment there.

Hi there! If you'd like to, go ahead and send us a private message with your VIN and dealer info and I’ll look into this warning concern. Thanks!

First, is it on? In Settings, Open "Driver Assistance" > "Pre-Collision Assist" and make sure the settings are on and the sensitivity is where you want it. Open "Driver Assistance" > "Cross Traffic Alert" and make sure it is turned on. (See Manual - pp. 274-284), or search "Pre-Collision Assist" or "Cross Traffic Alert" on the electronic manual in the center display.

Front (Pre-Collision Assist): Pull into a parking space/your garage and creep closer and closer to a wall or car parked in front of you. It should start beeping slowly at first, then faster, then a continuous tone, at which point you should stop immediately.

Back (Cross-Traffic Alert): Back your car to the end of your driveway or back slightly out of a parking space in a parking lot so that the rear sensors are not blocked by cars next to you, brake, leave it in reverse with your foot on the brake and wait for a car to drive by from each direction. It should start beeping and you'll get a warning on your driver's display.
