Don’t worry, the list of companies losing money on electric cars is just going to get longer.

And despite investors treating it like it is……this is not a tech startup thing that venture capitalists can keep throwing money into.

The problem is that if it continues, electric cars will become nothing more than a failed experiment.

Tesla was planning on selling $50K trucks, it has now switched over to $100K ones. That will have to cause a huge reduction in number of sales. Hence manufacturing costs. Hence point at which trucks are sold more than marginal manufacturing cost. Hence problematical recovery of R&D.
