Dead battery during delivery tansport

After endless delays in transport and literally no feedback from my dealer, I did some digging, tracked down the trucking company that had my Mach-E and called them to see why it kept getting delayed. They told me that the vehicle could not move because the battery was dead and that they dropped it off at a dealer for repairs. Has this happened to anyone else? I know it has been sitting unplugged in the cold for two months but that seems extreme for a brand new battery.
