Did I get screwed by the dealer?

Well, I spoke with their order specialist, he gave me an official order date of 2/1/22. He says he will be following up with his assistant general manager to see if there is anything they can do to accommodate me. Apparently, this order specialist started 5 days after I came in to do the order, so probably whoever was placing those orders probably had one foot out the door, not their problem. So that's fun and exciting. :mad:? On the plus side, I have an actual order number now. ?‍♀
Just tell them to bump you up priority wise. I would go in and try and speak to the GM and tell him its not acceptable and you need to be bumped up. Tell them to call their Ford guy they buy cars from and have him help you guys out. Or check their website for what's coming in and see if there is one you like and tell them to sell you that one at the same price as yours.

This is exactly what I did, they are reaching out to the assistant general manager for recourse. They are admitting the mistake which I appreciate and I'm sure we'll figure it out, maybe it's for the better, I'll have some negotiating power. Still frustrating though!

So this is also something I'm not sure how to do, I have a Ford account, but do I need to link my order number somewhere? Again I'm wondering if this isn't part of the ordering process that I just missed.
Go to Ford.com and sign in.

Click on “my account.”

Click on “reservations and orders.”

Did that, there is nothing there. I didn't order online through MY account, I built it online with the dealers account at the showroom before they placed the order. After some research, it looks like you can't add an order number if you did it this way until the VIN is available.

Gotcha. Seems the process is a bit different for you then, which also means you couldn’t see/track your order date.

For me I converted a reservation to an order at the dealer and could see it online right away.
