Best climate to own an EV since the coldest it gets here is the 30's once or twice a year. I have 230+ mile range at 90% most days.
Southern Arizona comes in a close 'first' on the best EV weather. Sadly, we don't have as many hurricanes?

I haven't used the new DCFC stations, the reviews on Plugshare seem to be OK, still some people just sitting there not charging apparently. They aren't super fast but that makes sense for the shopping are, you don't wanna be done charging too fast while you're shopping and then still have to pay the insane idle fees they added onto it.

Yeah the Universal hotels all have their chargers behind valet, I stayed at Hard Rock last summer and it was nice, but I made sure I was the one to plug it in, it was before I got the "fix" for the contractor issue so I was a little nervous. All the Disney Parks have the slow Chargepoint chargers, but good luck getting one if you don't arrive when the parking lot opens. People plug in and leave their cars there till close. There's only 3 or 4 spots per park, it's so stupid.
Didn't know the hotels have them behind Valet as well. I knew about the City Walk one, we have preferred annual passes so we will move up to premier to get the free Valet at City Walk.

Bummer about the Disney parks though but I'm not surprised if they are very limited. The amount of Teslas I have seen driving around makes me wonder why Disney and Universal are not installing a bunch more for their guests. Especially all the Tesla rentals I've seen.

FL Turnpike south of Orlando to Miami is actually really, every rest-stop has either ChargePoint or FPL Evolution (@ .30 cents per kW-no subscription) 150 or 350 kWh... North of Orlando is another story ?
Don't they say about Florida that the further North you go, the further South you get? ?

I believe I read someplace that Henry ford, Thomas Edison, and Harvey Firestone used to go “camping” in Florida (I think Ormond beach?)

I shared some details of my short road trip Miami to Orlando here: https://www.macheforum.com/site/thr...nfrastructure-on-south-central-florida.23700/

FPL Evolution is by far the best we have and hope they continue to expand, the rest as I stated in my post leaves much to be desired and its clear the the state of the EV Charging network outside TESLA is nowhere close to where it needs to be with the growing EV market.

Btw.
I also have installed the FPL Evolution home charger (JuiceBox) with their fixed monthly charge of $31 and I must say its a good charger and a very reasonable price for unlimited charge including the hardware

I agree that from Miami to Orlando, FL turnpike is very good with those FPL chargers. My issue is that from Miami to Key west there is nothing, so I am not sure I can make that trip without running out of juice
There is an Electrify America in Key Largo with DC fast charge, and a few free chargers on the way to KW. You can also charge free, if you pay to park in KW.

There's new EA station going in St. Petersburg at Tyrone Mall, all the chargers are in they just haven't turned them on yet, it's definitely gonna help out that area with people traveling.
There’s one going in at the Tampa outlets in Wesley Chapel too (right at 75/275 split) according to EA app.

There’s an EA in Homestead, Key Largo and Key West. I did that drive a couple years ago and it was no problem.

Here I thought they were all in their 80s, driving 1991 Sedan De Villes with vinyl roofs and broken turn signals ???
The turn signals ain't broken... ??

For non Tesla… yeah it’s almost been smaller utilities or dealerships that have built new locations here in Florida. It’s pretty sad. I still avoid Ocala because it’s a desert and my 220 mile round trip to Tampa on Easter Sunday was a pain because the EVGo station in Brandon would not initiate a charge on the Mach-E. More EVs on the road but no discernible improvement in number of available chargers.

For Tesla… they’ve built 8 new SC locations in Orlando area in 1.5 years. It’s insane. Plus large installations at Buc-ee’s just north of here. Ditched my last Tesla 6 months ago so they are no use to me.
Tesla is moving to be a monopoly of charging. V4 + MagicDock will be game over for the "competition".
