I just picked up my car from the service center after having the HVBJB replaced, and noticed when I got home these two wires dangling. Its right next to the OBD connector port. Does anyone know what these two wires are?

Also, I told them about some issues I had that I thought there might of been TSB on, but they said they couldnt reproduced it and didnt need anything updated.
1. Drive Mode Unavailable - I used to get this a lot, and get it from time to time now at random times
2. Car Play Issues: static phone call, sometimes dropped calls where i cant hear the person but they hear me, and the maps going crazy spinning around in circles randomly

Are there no updates related to any of these? I havent gotten any updates in the car in more than a year, so no clue what the status is lol

The female OBD connector that is just hanging there is probably your car’s original OBD-2 connector. The one mounted to the dash is a pass-through (male connector on the other end of the ribbon) that supplies power and signal to an aftermarket device. I would guess that the selling dealer put a locator device in the car (low-end LoJack) in order to track the car. ??

Hmmm that was not like that when i dropped it off though, so not sure why they would need to do that?
?

Do you know if i need to connect it back to anything, or it being like that is okay?

They probably had to disconnect it to do an update or something. I would trace the cabling back to wherever the device is hidden in your car and remove it, then put the factory OBD-2 port back in its correct position. ?‍♂?

Yup. That a GPS tracking device that many dealerships install in the cars so that they can repossess your car if you don’t make your payments. If you look back at the paperwork, you probably paid for that device. If you didn’t sign something agreeing to be tracked, I would simply remove the device.

Yup, likely GPS tracking device that has been in your car and tracking your location ever since you bought it. You should get up under the dash and fully remove the tracking module. I see a zip tie so it's probably held in by that.

The cable hanging down is likely the original OBD connector and should be replaced in the original mounting location after removing the OBD jumper that's currently occupying that location.

I've warned about this hidden vehicle tracking devices previously, they can cause 12V drains.

Thank you all for your responses and help! It is exactly that!

The OBD port is not working because it wasnt plugged to anything, so later ima cut the zip tie and remove that Spireon tracker and plug everything back so the port works.
