Driver display error?

First time poster, long time viewer.

Recently purchased mach-e 2023 extended range model. Have been happy with the 'car' features but have struck a few problems with the technology. The most annoying one is the drivers dash (pictured) showing a big blue block on the front of the car graphic. It disappears when cruise control is selected.

I didn't notice this when test driving at the dealer but immediately noticed it (and reported to dealer) when the car was delivered. Dealer doesn't have a way to fix it - so am wondering if this is a known fault that others have overcome? Thanks in advance for any assistance.

It’s the distance indicator if you change the travel distance setting it’ll change the shading. Think it was a recent update to software.

Yeah its certainly meant to be a distance indicator. It does turn red sometimes when I get close to a car in front. I think it's showing a blue block instead of some other graphic.

Everybody does. It’s jokingly referred to as MME pushing a box.

No because I have it turned off.

My distance indicator looks a bit different from that (mine is several obround bars). Try turning it off for a bit then back on. You could also try a reboot of the Sync system (volume down +next track). ??

Obround = Rectangle with rounded ends. My car usually has several of them on the display above the car icon with the CC on. ?‍?

Thanks all - have turned off the indicator. At least now my passengers won't ask me constantly, 'what's all that about? Looks strange - poor design' etc etc...

Interesting. Mine is still a single rectangle. Maybe a 2024 thing? Can you post a picture. I’m really curious

My car also has this, but only when cruise control is turned on. All other modes it has the blue block (now disabled in the vehicle settings thanks to @Mach-Lee
