Im a brand new Mach e owner , and when charging at a 350W EA DC fast charger, I press the “stop “ button on the charging station screen once my car hits around 85%. I’ve been unplugging the charger without hitting the button by the port. Am I supposed to press the button by the charger port even if it stopped charging ? Am I damaging my port?

I always use the button on the charge port of the car so I can hear the lock pin disengage. Yes, you can damage the port if you pull hard to overcome a “stuck” lock pin or a pin that doesn’t release at the end of the charge session.

Stopping on the EA screen can cause an error. Best to push the button next to the port, or on the center screen.

Why are you charging to 85%?

I suggest you spend time reading your manual which can be downloaded from Ford.com in PDF form to all your devices.

Is 85% really a bad idea when charging? L3 or L2

I mean if you aren't hogging a charger, 85 isn't much different than 80.
I simply asked "why"?
