We’ve had our 2023 Mach-E (purchased from Ford) for three months now, and I’ve seen the “Electrical System Drain Service Required” message twice. The first time it appeared, I took note of it, but it disappeared on its own and didn’t show up again until yesterday, when my wife was leaving for work. I waited until this morning to call the dealership, but the message had disappeared again. I’m unsure whether I should contact the dealership or not.
After researching the issue, I can rule out a few potential causes. We’ve deleted the FordPass app from our phones as a precaution and for trouble shooting, there are no aftermarket devices plugged into the car, and the vehicle is entirely stock, as delivered. Also, we don’t drive the car very much—typically twice a week (on Monday and Thursday) and usually one day on the weekend, totaling about 2 hours of total driving. After each use, we plug it into the Ford charger (Level 1) and charge it back up to 80% before unplugging it.
Could this message be related to the limited driving we’re doing, or should I take it to the dealership?
PS. I checked to make sure the Lights are turned to auto and not on.
