Factory reset disaster

Any help appreciated.

I've been having issues with the Mach E and setting up profiles, it kept deleting my profile randomly also phone connection issues. So I decided to factory reset, I knew it would wipe everything but thought I would just need to follow the setup process to get Ford Pass back up and running.

Car is a state of activation pending on my primary Ford Pass account app on Android. No pop up in the car either to accept, all subscriptions deleted which is annoying as it's cancelled Blue Oval Ionity sub which I had intended to use again this week as on holiday.

So far I am impressed with the car itself but typically fords sync system and remote services are utter shite in comparison to a 6 year old BMW.

Any idea how to get this resolved??

UPDATE:

Managed to activate Ford Pass now, strangely my partners phone hadnt been logged out and an activation request popped up in her app.

Still an issue with reactivating the Blue Oval Ionity trial as says cancellation pending and the email Ford sent me confirming cancellation although states if you dont want to cancel click a link, it just takes you to your account with no option to cancel the cancellation in manage subscription.

In my experience of performing a Master Reset you will normally get an email when the car is reset to say you’ve been disconnected from that vehicle in FordPass, and that subscriptions will be cacelled in the next 14 days if the vehicle is not re-connected.

So as long as the car is reconnected to FordPass in a timely manner (which it sounds like you have) then your subscriptions should automatically reactivate and continue as before.

Give it 24hrs - Sunday is never a good day for stuff like this as Ford often do all sorts of server maintenance on a Sunday.

I was told (frome ford over the phone) it takes 10 days for modems to turn back on. which would compare to when you first get your vehicle.

I lost voice assist in my car along with alexa. Doesn't show up in settings or anything so when i called them about doing master reset they told me not to do it and it would take 10 days to get subscriptions back. well its been over 2 weeks since i took it to dealer so not like this way is going better for me.

I don’t know if BMW is any better. I find the app a bit convoluted and on my i4, I have to hold the phone to the door to lock and unlock, and put the phone on the charger to start the car.

Mate in the UK PAAK doesn't work due to lack of approval and neither does remote start via the app again due to no approval as yet.

All I am saying is based on experience of my M2 the idrive and functionality just works so much better than sync 4 and that's 7 year old technology

The way it forgets my profile is frankly dangerous as it disables one pedal drive!!

When you say it forgets your profile does it actually delete your profile or does it go into guest mode?

I used to have the guest mode issue for a while, but hasn’t happened in months. Assuming an update fixed the issue.

It actually deletes my profile and goes into guest mode. I am running latest software.

That really sucks. For the safety concern, turn on 1-Pedal for the guest profile and see if that holds.

Since doing the factory reset I now appear to be suffering from the deep sleep issue after no more than about 1 hour, no error messages, battery charge 68% and within the last 2 days driven 180 miles so something is clearly wrong as the 12v battery should not be suffering after these circumstances. Open and start the car and back into deep sleep after an hour or so, all remote functions disabled.

FFS Ford not good enough. I now am going to have to book the car in at ford, oh joy!

I’m joking of course- but you really do have some very unhappy software modules at the moment.

Ive never had a reset go badly before and to be fair I’m not sure what the dealer would actually do to try and rectify the issues (apart from another reset!)

I hope you manage to get something sorted soon as it sounds horrific.

And that's the issue I have with all this, I can almost guarantee the dealer will just reset again, wasting my time booking it in. Im going to give it a few days to settle and see what happens. I can't be arsed booking it in, ford being arseholes about providing a decent courtesy vehicle instead of some low spec fiesta for the week that no doubt will be filthy inside and out. Again BMW would always provide a decent courtesy car if I required one no questions asked

Ford customer service to be fair have called me back and will call again on Thursday to see how things are going.

Can't say I am very impressed thus far.

How long did it take to get the option to re subscribe to the blue oval trial because over 48 hours later mines still pending cancellation with no ability to reactivate as per fords email which again is effing annoying
