I just started having this problem on my ‘23 premium that is less than a year old. I am getting a faint beep when the brakes engage - or that’s what it seems like.

I have tested this both with one pedal driving and without and I get the same results. It FEELS like when the regenerative braking is joined by the actual brakes, a faint beep occurs. And it happens every time. It’s easiest to identify at low speeds.

If in one-pedal driving mode, once I cross a threshold of less pressure on pedal, the beep happens. And when not in one pedal driving, I get the beep after a hit some equally consistent threshold of pressure on the brake. JUST beginning to release the accelerator in one pedal, or just touching the brake pedal lightly does not cause the beep. I can slow the car VERY gradually without triggering the beep. It is a consistently repeatable spot every time.

I plan on calling my dealership tomorrow, but thought I’d come here first in case it’s some stupid setting I somehow turned on, or to see if the problem was known in other cars.

to be clear, this IS a beep. It’s not a chime or tone. And it is coming from inside the car.

Thank you for any help or advice anyone can give.

*I am not educated enough in how regenerative braking works on this car. So I’m trying to describe the situation, but am probably using the incorrect terminology.

First step would be to identify the location of the sound.

Have someone inside the car and outside the car and see who hears what.

If outside the car- be sure it’s not just surface rust. Drive 30 mph, put the car in neutral and brake fairly quickly. Do it a couple times to clean them off then test for the sound again.

The physical brakes under normal driving only apply at around 4mph or less when slowing to a stop.

Let us know what you find out.

Also post a video of the sound if you can. Hard to describe a sound with words.

Okay, I will take a video tomorrow.

But while you were responding, I went back out to test at a higher speed. I was up around 43MPH on a clear road and released the one pedal driving. I let the car very quickly decelerate, but did not hear the beep. I could only replicate the sound at the lower speeds - under 25.

it is not audible from outside the car at all. I tested this by forcing the beep on a freshly paved road with the windows up and my kid outside the car. I was watching her when the beep triggered and she heard nothing over multiple runs.
