Hi,

First post here, but I've used this forum a bunch.

I have a cyber orange GT, ordered in May 2021, delivered in December 2021.

L2 charging at home works perfectly.

We found out the hard way on our first road trip that fast charging did not work at all.
We tried a dozen chargers, EVGo, Chargepoint, EA... No luck. Tech support tried rebooting the chargers as well. These chargers were successfully charging other vehicles before us.

EVGo error message was VEHICLE_JINSIGNAL_REMOVED.

Brought it to Ford, they replaced some board, but they couldn't really test it. I picked it up and tested it, got a cube_overvoltage_error on an EA station.

Now it's been in the shop for almost 4 weeks, they've replaced a bunch of things and it still doesn't work. They seem at a dead end.

I've read a lot of threads about interoperability issues on fast chargers. But has anyone else experienced a complete failure to fast charge anywhere? If so I'd love to hear about it.

Thanks.

Hi there! Would you send us a private message with your VIN and dealership name and location? I’d like to look into this concern on my end.

Posting an update, and kind of surprised I'm the only one facing this?

It's been 2 months, the dealer and Ford engineers (assigned to the case, one travelled to dealership) have been working hard but no luck. Yesterday they replaced the whole battery in vain. I feel that at this point they have replaced every single component from the charging port to the battery.

It's really disappointing that:
- diagnostic tools and metrics were not properly designed to do proper root cause analysis
- fast charging isn't tested at the factory
- the whole design seems to need stars to be aligned to work

That’s a tough problem, seems very strange and unique to your vehicle which is hard to design diagnostic tools for. it’s likely a loose connection somewhere buried in a harness that very likely will not show up as a problem on even the best test equipment unless you’re very lucky.

If the Cuautitlan factory is like any other oem that produces EVs they do test fast charging at the factory, that’s how they charge the battery prior to it leaving. So it’s strange that it made it .

Sorry this is happening!
