Climate is the new name for remote start on Mustang Mach E and Ford EVs since FordPass 5.

I was responding to the Lightning part of your post. The widget said Mustang Mach-e, not climate. Had the fan icon.

Oh right, I meant to reply to the other guy that was confused about the fan icon, since the Lightning actually has proper app climate settings, the Mustang Mach E only has remote start, which is now renamed to start climate.

Yeah, the whole point of the feature is that third party apps can now expose controls for users to add to Control Center. So this is almost certainly running through the FordPass app you have installed and configured on your device (and thus using the existing official api).
It’ll be a nice shortcut to avoid going in to FordPass all the time, but probably not much more.
