First long distance trip was just o.k.

10 days. About 1100 miles. Southeast NC to Aberdeen MD to Lansing NC mountains and back home.
Thanksgiving Day is great for traveling 8+ hours if you don't have to be somewhere for the traditional daytime gatherings.
Public charging stations are easy to find. I used 2 Flying J truck plazas, 1 Tesla, 2 EVgo and 3 Electrify America. I didn't always charge to 80% and never let my range get below 30% for all of these except once at 15%.
We all know using the heat sucks up the range.
One lesson learned: Interstate miles without much brake use isn't so bad. I should have used I-81 instead of Hwy 29 and 221 through VA.
Lynchburg VA has ONE station with only 2 painfully slow 50 kwh units. I just needed a short boost to get to Roanoke.
Glad to be back home to start my regular daily 70 mile round-trip commute.

I'm not in the US but I know you have a lot of places with very little infrastructure. Did you use ABRP or a similar route planning app to preplan the stops?

Did you charge at the Ford dealer in West Jefferson? Im planning a trip there soon and noted they have six DC fast chargers but some reviews say they are used as parking spots for new cars.

I went through there on my way out to 421 but didn't need to stop. Forgot to mention that I was able to charge to 95% at the farm in Lansing where I stayed for 3 days.

Unfortunately , that appears to be a common practice . Dealer In Stuart , FL . Dealer uses them as a parking spot areas , 3 out of 4 stations are not working . Asked for help and got a shoulder shrug!

ABRP was suggested in an earlier post that I made while planning this trip. I didn't use it. Just the built-in navigation and search for chargers along the way. Probably not the best way to do it but I'm still learning things with this car.

Oh dear! I think the Ford Nav burned you. In the 2023, it won’t route you to them.

There are two Tesla superchargers north of 460 in Lynchburg and another in Bedford, along 460. The Charlottesville to Lynchburg run on 460 is a desert, but easily done.

I’ve done it and used the one at the Royal Farms just south of Lynchburg.
