A friend invited me to go hunting tomorrow morning. I’m going to see how the MME fares with all of my junk in it. My biggest concern at the moment is possibly getting stuck. Next is the HVBJB. I will post back after I do the RT. ??

Notes on my trip. I got home from work and plugged in for a 100% L2 charge (from 95%). Loaded car and took off. The first leg was to EA in Dunnigan, CA. The temperature at departure was about 53F. The temperature upon arrival in Dunnigan was 48F. The ACC was set to 72 MPH. Most of the first 1/4 o the distance was in stop and go or heavy slow and go traffic. After the slow stuff, the drive was mostly on ACC, with the occasional excursion to 78 MPH to pass 65 MPH traffic without causing a hazard to people going faster than I wanted to. The car averaged 2.8 mi/KWh. The first 150KW charger I tried had a bad card reader, so I could not use the EA card in my iPhone's wallet or my credit card. Plug and Charge did not register. The other 150 was in a handicapped spot, so I moved to a 350. The 350 would also not register my P&C, so I used the EA card in my iOS wallet. Car started charging, so I ran off to find a tree and get some food. After eating, returned to the car and found that car was nearly at 90%, so I waited a few minutes to hit 90, then ended the session. Unplugged after 34% was pushed back into my battery. Other than the charging issues and traffic, the first leg was super-easy. ?? Oh, there was one incident on I-80 in traffic where some fool was coming up on me in lane 2 really fast, switched lanes and forced the guy in lane 1 to hit the median to avoid her. I saw that in my rear and side mirrors. All I could say was: "What an idiot."??

Departed the Dunnigan EA with the temperature at 49F. ACC was again set to 72 MPH up I-5. Drove into the town of Colusa to meet my friend, then off to his cabin (which was really a trailer complex). The car averaged 2.1 mi/KWh for that leg of the trip. Arrival temperature was 47F and I had 70% SoC. There was a trailer supply outlet next to his cabin with a 14-30R and a 6-15R on it. I used the 110V 6-15R with my Ford Mobile Charger and left the car plugged in until post-hunt departure. My friend said that the parking area near the duck blind was too muddy so we went in his F350 the next morning. So I got to cheese a few extra KWh (to the tune of 15h 7m of 110V charge time - 21% put back into the battery!). ?? The down side to the charging post is that the 110V outlet was installed ground-up and there was a metal flange right above the outlet that rubbed on the AC cable nub. It was also high enough off the ground that we had to tape the body of the charger to the pole so that it took the strain off of the cable nub and its connector into the FMC. I'll remember to bring a very short 12GA 6-15 cord next time. ??

Upon leaving the cabin, my car was at 91% SoC. I decided this should be enough to make it home with ~16% SoC. After following my friend into Colusa (sometimes he drives that F350 REALLY fast), I headed along CA-20 to get to I-5, then set the ACC for 70 MPH and just let the car cruise along until I got home, with occasional excursions to 78 MPH. Arrived at home with 19% SoC, having averaged 2.5 mi/KWh. I forgot to record the temperatures, but it was right at freezing when we left for the blind according to my friend's F350. I was boiling hot because I thought it was going to stay cold by the time we left the blind, so I am guessing we left the blind with the temperature in the 40s. Pretty sure it was low 50s when I unplugged. I would not have tried to make it home without stopping if it were any colder. I got home to a temperature of 58F and plugged into my 32A EVSE. ??

The car treated me well and I babied the go pedal. Good trip, all in all. ??

It was so dead in the morning. I got to see a lot of fog, some cranes, a marsh hawk, a whole lot of coots. I also got to hear some swans. There was little wind. The breeze set up the birds coming off of the private refuge to go to a different area. We watched them get limits and leave. ??

Once the fog cleared, I got to see geese flying at altitudes dangerous to private aircraft. Lots of them way up there. ??

We got a few to decoy, but it was a lot of calling work. ??

I didn’t bring my dog because he was too old to get trained into this when I got him. Some day I’ll get another pup that will work. This one is just my cuddle bug. ??

Tesla gives people "Cyberpunk 2077", Ford gives us "Duck Hunt". seems about right.
