FM / radio / BT issues

Hi,

mach-e awd 2022, sync4 power up updates still slowly updating 3.x versions. After 3.5.4.2, if iPhone or Android is connected over bluetooth or carplay/airplay, the Radio will work initially for a brief moment, but will silence. Audio chimes work, steering wheel controls for airplay/android auto do not for spotify skip etc. Radio preset channels do not change or respond, unless BT / wlan connection to phone is disconnected. Any tips?

Your Sync software is still on software from 2022 if that's the case. The newer software improves phone connectivity significantly. As far behind as you still are, I would consider looking into FDRS to do it yourself, or if you still have warranty, show your dealer the attached TSB to see if they do it for you.

The Ford dealer has been not very co-operative with the missing updates, FDRS does show the missing optional updates, but I am not sure if they can force to 4.x power up versions.

Yea it can. It absolutely can. You may not be able to update all the way up to the most current Sync version depending on what Ford has released for your car, but FDRS for sure would get you more current.
