I'm sure this has been pointed out already, but I racked my brain trying to square some weird numbers in the Ford app. This thread started as me asking why I was seeing this, but in the process I finally saw the issue...
So today I tried out a slew of new things: new A2Z Tesla adapter, charging at a Tesla supercharger, and fast charging in general. My Ford app tells me I got 20 kWh.. makes sense, I added about 22% to my 91 kWh battery pack. (it went pretty well, first stall would not charge, second one immediately worked. Then I got my first dirty look from a Tesla driver who tried to back up to the stall I was using/blocking,
)
But then I noticed that the previous charges were all substantially more kWh. For example here I added 11% on "57kWh."
So I looked at my charger's app and it shows that I actually added only 10kWh and confirms it charged at 6kW for about 1.5 hours. So that all lines up and the numbers make sense.
I have a charging schedule, so as you can see I was plugged in for 10 hours from the time charging started to when I pulled the plug, but only charged for a small portion of that. The app is multiplying the total time on plug with the charge rate and not accounting for down time after charging. I guess it's no big deal in general, other than bad app math making me think too much?. But seems like something Ford could add to the update backlog!
