My work is adding 14-50 outlets for car charging and we're looking to start building a small fleet of used (cheap) EVs. So far it's looking like 2012-2014 Leafs and early Ford Focus models are within our budget ($6-8K)

I've done a good bit of research on the Leafs, but not so much on the Focus. Anyone on here have any real world experience with one? I'd love to get your take. We just need a couple of cars that'll get us around town 20-30 mi/day, have enough room for tools and such, and be dependable for a couple of years. Thanks!

I had a 2013. They are nice cars and pretty zippy.

The problem you'll likely have is room for tools: How much room do you need?

This should give you an idea:

I'd go with the later models with the bigger battery--the early ones didn't have DCFC.

Thanks for the pic. Usually just a couple of tool bags, cordless drills, a coil of hose and maybe a small step ladder. The back seats would be down (or removed, possibly).

I bought my 2018 new and it's been a good car for what it is. The only issue was an A/C line failed early on and was replaced under warranty. It's got about 30k miles on it. That said, I'd light it on fire right now if it meant I could get my GTPE today.
