We replaced our 12v battery a couple months ago and 3-4 mo before the 3 year mark which seems to be about how long the oem 12v battery lasts.

With some guidance from this forum I decided to replace my 2022 12v battery at the 3 year point. No warnings received. O’Reilly’s quoted $259 for a replacement. I declined and decided a big search wasn’t worth the effort and bought one from the dealer for $166, will get $18 refunded when I return the old core. It was an easy job to do myself with some good YouTube videos and advice from the forum. Don’t wait for the warning, just plan on replacement every 3 years. Mine lives in a garage with fairly mild temps.

But that could actually happen, as I rarely take my fob with me anymore. I guess it's best just to keep a close eye on the LVB SOH and proactively get it replaced.
About to resurrect a new and improved driving app for the Mach-E (and the Lightning) and have never seen a reference to the LVB SOH anywhere.

if someone can supply the module and PID I can report the LVB SOH after every trip and watch it over time. FWIW, I can read the LVB SOC but it is less useful for LVB battery replacement guidance.

And while I am picking the brains of those in the know for scan tool data, I have also been searching for the range (GOM) and haven’t found it yet (must be somewhere as FordPass has it). I use the change in the GOM on a per trip basis to compare with the distance driven or log the range added during a charge session.

Got the bill for my battery replacement via Mobile Service today...$268.62.

I'm OK with that, especially because I didn't have to take the car in to the dealer and I didn't have to work outside in frigid weather to replace it myself.

That being said, I'll probably do it myself next time - it really did look pretty easy. I did cringe, however, every time the guy pulled off a trim piece and it made a horrible sound like it was breaking in two 😂

I can tell you I will be very cautious about pulling the left and right beauty panels on either side of the frunk from now on when it's cold out...last year I pulled the left side to connect up the power supply to do an update, and because it was cold outside one of the supports that a clip seats into snapped completely off the underside of the panel. I was in a highly modified state of rapture because I'd taken great pride in making sure not to lose any clips, or break anything up to that point. But that plastic can get very brittle when it's cold.

Out of curiosity did that mobile tech know to reset the BMS or say anything about it? I have a feeling some techs may not realize they have to do that.

I don't think he did...he just jumped in and started the pending update that took about 20-30 minutes.

Can I do the BMS update now myself?
