When I asked what the problem was and why they had to replace the same module 5 times the explanation I got is that the part number for the module was mislabeled in the manual. They claimed the part number ended in an"e" and should have ended in an "a" or something to that affect. They blamed Ford but at this point I am not sure what to believe.
My service consultant told me something very similar. He said that Ford had updated the part and not updated the service manual the dealers work from, so they ordered the wrong part. Fortunately in my case they apparently caught it after the first module faulted during programming.

I visited my Ford dealer on Friday to book an appointment for that front camera fault. He insisted it's winter and it was only calcium on the parking sensors (they work fine) causing this problem. I insisted, he tried to shut me down by saying it was calcium and to just clean my car. He finally gave up and I have an appointment in two weeks... Your updates to the thread might save me a lot of time and frustration dealing with the dealer.

I would certainly copy the post above about the service bulletin with the model numbers for the replacement module and show it to them. Otherwise you could be in for a long frustrating experience since your dealer doesn't seem like he is aware of the issue

Unbelievable to hear the same stories. Had mine in a week ago for the windshield and a broken overhead glasses holder. Got it back and within 4 days I'm getting the same messages regarding the front camera.

Several weeks ago I got a warning that there was a Front Camera Failure. I had to leave the car at the dealer for the day (took a10 days to get an appointment) and after many attempts to resolve the issue they determined it needed a module replacement. Waited another week for the new module to arrive and several days to get another appointment. Left the car there for day but the technician could not get the module to accept the programming. They called Ford tech support but couldn't get an answer that day so i took the car home. A week later they were told the new module was probably defective and they needed to order a new one. Its 10 more days and they have not yet received the new module. Its now nearly a month, still no resolution and I am not confident that the new module is going to fix this but we'll see.

The problem is that without a front end camera there is no front end collision avoidance, I can't use cruise control ( not even basic cruise control), and automatic high beams is non functional too. None of those are deal breakers but the lack of cruise control has been a pain on som long drives the past two weeks.

Has anyone else had an issue like this?
Are they giving you a car to use while they mess around with your car?

Hi there! Will you send us a message with your VIN and your local Ford dealer? I can look into things on my end.

Yes but not a machE. I spent a month driving a big Ford explorer. Not great when gas is over $4/gal but it was new at least. I have my car back now so at least a happy ending
