Frozen charger connector.

I stopped at a high speed charger in Colfax, Iowa this weekend. I plugged in but the card reader was malfunction and wouldn’t accept any card. I went to disconnect and the release button on the charger cable was frozen and I couldn’t get the cable to disconnect. Thankfully, I had a tool kit in the car. I used a pair of channel lock pliers to depress the button so I could get the cable disconnected. Those pliers will now be permanently located on my vehicle. Has anyone else run into this situation?
