Anyone put a power port in the frunk? Thinking about 12v power for a refrigerator cooled for trip this summer.

FYI the frunk gets to 100+F while driving from the radiator heat. Much better to put it in the conditioned cabin. I don’t think a powered cooler would fit either.

The frunk tub is heated in two ways. First, as Lee said there is the hot air from the coolant radiators and A/C evaporator. Second, there are several coolant hoses that route round the frunk tub. The lower middle of the back wall of the frunk tub is where the most heat from these hoses is, as evidenced by ice melting the fastest in that spot. ??

This is really the first time I have opened the frunk and only because the wife was asking if there was a power port. Now that I told her about the temperature thing she has decided it’s better to put a small bage there and the cooler in back.

I remember a thread a long time ago that talked about adding a radiant barrier to the outside of the frunk tub. Do you recall if that ever happened?

When I had my tub out I was taking measurements. The problem was that a lot of the hoses and other items in the compartment abut the frunk tub or are in very close proximity to it. I definitely could not get a 1/4" insulation into the area at the lower middle of the rear wall of the tub. There's a little more room at the front wall, but insulating the tub at that area needs to be done intelligently so as not to alter the fluid dynamics of the cavity much or overheating could happen. ??
