Hey folks! I’ve been working on a small Web site intended to let you easily and quickly determine the fuel cost differences between selected vehicles (which can be ICE or EV):

https://davew2040.github.io/vehicle-fuel-comparison/

I’m curious if anybody has any feedback on it, whether they think it’s something that’s useful, if there are problems with it, suggestions for improvement, etc. I originally started working on it because my mother-in-law was somewhat interested in buying an EV and was curious what the fuel savings could be.

This is an interesting idea, and looks like a good start to a tool that people might find useful. I've been known to do the same thing with spreadsheets to compare fuel costs between my wife's Escape and my MACH E.

I'd suggest including some options to flip to metric. Not everyone is in the US (what are these "Miles" and "Gallons" you speak of? :p). You might have to do some math for the conversion on your own, though, if your source dataset doesn't include the metric equivalents.

If you do decide to include metric, be aware that litres (or kWh) per 100km is the common measure in countries that use metric. I personally hate that, and prefer the MPG comparable km/l (or km/kWh) - my brain just understands that way of looking at units of energy and distance better.

I think those conversions would make sense! I agree that the source data likely doesn’t support it, but spend some time on it over the next week or so.
