A quick follow-up. I got the Shell Recharge app all set up and went to the 3 different Shell Recharge places nearby and tried it out that I had trouble with. Everything went fine with their app and successfully charged. I haven't had a chance to try with Chargepoint, but I imagine I will have a similar successful engagement.
