The OEM Pirelli's on my 2022 GTPE have 21,500 miles in service. I've rotated them every 10,000 miles religiously.

Check out the tread wear patterns in these photographs. Do you think they're done? Should I replace them right away?

Frankly, I'm hoping they'll last until Pirelli releases its new P Zero E tire in the US market. I get conflicting reports regarding when that might be; either 2Q 2024 or in 2025 as an OEM tire on a BMW EV.

Still, there are good alternatives on the market today if these tires are really done...

@markboris @Discount Tire What do you guys think?

There’s a little marker, bridge, in the valleys of the tread. When you reach that mark the tires need to be replaced.

Your photos aren’t clear enough to make a determination over the internet, but they are looking like they’re mostly worn. Penny/quarter tests would apply here.

Your tires look great compared to mine!

9,000 miles, all city driving. Did an alignment and rotated at 6k (alignment was fine).

You aren’t on the markers yet

Even mine aren’t on the markers yet (but almost are).

I will be replacing with pilot sport 4S pretty soon. I think these tires suck.

Tires are THE single most important performance and safety item on your car. Just have an honest place like Discount Tire take a look at them.

And, if you are getting sub par results from the Pirellis, why buy them again?

Because I know that not all Pirellis (or Michelins) are created equal!

If we condemn entire brands simply because we don’t like one of their tires, we wouldn’t have much rubber left to choose from.

Read the reviews of tires like the Pirelli All Season Plus ELECT and the Pirelli PZero E, both of which are getting far better marks than our OEM tires.

Performance Summer tires. They are going to wear fast. @scoopman got about 4K miles on his OEM tires. I am at 16K miles on mine and they look to have about 2K left on them. ?‍♂?

Pirelli summer tires have a tendency to wear out just by looking at them ?, they tendnot to last very long and can go off the boil, quite quickly even with a lot of tread left. However unless you have uneven wear and don't spend your time driving in a monsoon conditions then there really is no need to get a new set of boots until you get down to the wear indicators. Which from a casual look from the pictures appears not to be the case.

Can't add to any of the info over the eventual pzero-e availability on this side of the pond apart from what is already out there. Problem is from an EV perspective there are not really that many models sold with summer performance tires so most of the market will be for all seasons :(.

Also when they do arrive you may have to wait even longer for them to come in the OEM size, as one problem the GT/GTPE has compared to the other performance evs in this class is it that Ford under speced the wheel and tire package so options are limited vs everyone else that correctly opted for a 21" rim.

Mine looked like yours at 12k and while not at wear bear bars got way too concerned about wet weather safety and replaced them. Drove a mustang GT (v8) before with similar wear time on summer tires. Just not meant to last. Even very easy going driving I am amazed they look that good at 21k.

Thanks! I definitely try not to drive my GTPE so that it puts my driver's license at risk. But I'll admit to occasionally showing ICE muscle cars who's the real boss of the road!

Given that I don't drive it like I stole it, perhaps I'll just switch to all-season tires that I don't have to replace until they've accumulated 50,000-60,000 miles or more!

I went with a continental all season (sport plus), discount tires version of the dws06 plus. No idea how they will wear but to the amateur that doesn’t try out 0-60 times they feel better than the stocks. Haven’t seen a range hit and noise is similar. Feels secure in corners. And even my wife pointed out that some of the “skipping feel” when making low speed turns (like coming out of garage or driveway) went away.

I’m sorry, but I don’t see the problem from the picture. How much depth do you have left. My guess from the picture is 5 or 6 tenths. That’s about half its life.

BTW, what’s the tread wear warranty on these tires?

There's more to tire wear than tread depth!

Because the OEM Pirelli's are summer max performance tires, I don't believe they come with any treadwear warranty.
