I was trying to figure out what version of Sync I have on my new MME (still can't) and when I went into settings, about sync, I see something that says: Hands-Free Driving Mode available through 10-09-2022. I'm confused about this. Isn't this BlueCruise? I thought I recall something about a price increase of $600 for the M22 cars to cover 3 yrs of BlueCruise. Is that right, or am I misremembering? I tried searching here but couldn't find anything.

And how do you figure out what version of Sync you have? The first line of About Sync says software version: 21355_PRODUCT Revision: 316.

The BlueCruise maps need to be refreshed about every 6 months. The 10-09-2022 date is when the current maps expire. You won't be charged for new maps.

Your Sync version is 21355_PRODUCT Revision: 316.

Got it, thanks. So what are people referring to when they say, "stuck on 1.7..." or other references to what look like software versions that have a decimal in them?

Those are Power-up (OTA) updates. They're not really version numbers, just reference numbers for those particular OTA bundles.

Thanks again. So if I go into updates and it says my car is up to date, I don't need to worry about any of those I'm guessing. Yet. Does that ever tell you when you need updates?

That's just going to show you the latest OTA update that Ford has pushed to your VIN, which doesn't really tell you much. No OTA updates have been pushed out for 2022 cars yet, so you have nothing to worry about.

I had the same question a while back and someone here shared this link with me. I found it useful.

Interesting, thanks. My car was built the week of 4/11. From the link you provided, the version of Sync appears to have been updated in March 2022 to versions that look later than mine which is posted above (21355_PRODUCT Revision: 316), assuming that higher numbers mean more recent.
  • Updated Sync to Software Version: 22034_PRODUCT Revision: 364(2.5.3)[16]
  • Updated Sync to Software Version: 22095_PRODUCT Revision: 421(2.8.3)
I wonder why that is.
