Saw this and had to have a laugh at Ford's expense:

Ford Mustang Mach-E If only it was this easy Ford... tesla-pre-order-parts-1a

Meanwhile Ford owners have to deal with:
  1. Finding a dealer that will accept a Mach-E appointment (most don't honor appointments made in the app)
  2. Praying they actually have a technician that can work on Mach-E's
  3. Waiting for the problem to be diagnosed over the phone with lots of help from the Ford hotline engineers
  4. Hoping correct parts get ordered
  5. Waiting for said parts to arrive while the car sits in the dealer lot inoperative
Tesla has seemingly bypassed all that in one fell swoop. Can getting your car fixed at a dealer actually be a non-frustrating experience? Same-day service instead of being without your car for weeks at a time?

Ford Mustang Mach-E If only it was this easy Ford... no-no-no-thats-just-too-easy

For now, this radical idea of making repairs easy for customers is probably a pipe dream for Ford. Maybe in a decade...

According to a lot of people on this form, Telsa's dealer support is shit. Sure they have issues like anyone else, but I've seen a lot of Tesla owners saying how wonderful their "to your door service" is. Seems like the average experience is far better than any major US dealer would ever do.

Tesla doesn't have any dealers. They are all Tesla owned service centers.

I'd venture that Ford may eventually enable functionality to do this automatically, but obviously you'd want them to wait until they work out the bugs in pushing updates given how many errors sometimes throw for a bit before clearing up. Once they have a good baseline of behavior and can be certain that a problem is being detected, seems like it would be fairly easy for them to automatically notify the dealer you select in FordPass and pre-ship any parts needed.
