You realize your post still summarizes to Ford should be the better company and quickly fix Samsungs problem.
It's a philosophical discussion that I won't win, I'm well aware of that ?. I think Ford should be a better company and quickly fix its customers' problems.
Just a customer service mindset thing.

Well, at least they told us it was happening. An improvement, I guess.

They need to hurry up and add a warning when the battery is reaching the end of its life.
They do have it on some. Problem is when the battery fails unexpectily. Like it fails while the car is driving and it is running off the DC-DC converter while driving but when you turn the car off it switches to the battery and boom the doors have enough charge to open themselves once.

I had it happen to me. I went to pick up my daugher from day car. My wife and I drove their just fine from our house. At the day care I turned off the car and did notice the brake pedal kick really hard back but did not think anything of it at the time. I think the screens all turned off pretty fast as well but I generally open the door pretty fast. Door opened just fine and we went in side. Came back and could not open ANY of the car doors. Total 12v failure. Came back the next day to jump the car and took it to the dealership for a new battery.

Now I think Ford needs to do some other changes like have a way for us to force the car to connect the DC-DC converter to start the car like Hyundai does. It is that emergency back up so we can start the car and get it to car to a mechanic to replace 12v. Also they need to make replacing that 12v a hell of a lot easier than current as way to much stuff has to get removed.

I didn't know Hyundai could do that. Pretty cool.
And they can manually pre-condition the battery, too. At least the Kia EV9 can. ?

Funny you say that, I deal with EPIC every day. ?
im SO sorry to hear that ? On the bright side, you COULD be a Cerner shop instead ?
I've been in too many of those 3 or 4-way escalation calls because Microsoft pushed an update that broke many partner things. But you can bet that, if it was a big enough deal, EPIC engineers were desperately trying to remediate the issue themselves, if at all possible.
Given how much they charge for what’s basically nothing more than SAP for health care, Judy herself should come running from storybook land to fix any problems ???
I think we are saying similar things, though. The examples you brought up are unsolvable by the collaterally affected company, however. Without going deep in the woods on this Bluetooth issue, it seems Ford just said "not my problem" and moved on. I know that they are right and, since I don't expect much from them, I'm not really upset. But isn't that a sad realization for Ford? Your customers don't really count on, or trust you to solve their problems.
I think there is the subtlety of “magnitude of issue”. Frankly, PAAK breaking for a subset of customers due to an error by a 3rd party manufacturer Ford has no relationship with is a totally different animal than, saying, all the drawers locking on all the pharmacy “robots” at a Level 1 Trauma Center (I’ve known of instances where this happened. It was not a good day for Clinical Engineering ?)

I deal with them too. I'm on the tech vendor side for a specific presentation layer technology.

in a situation like there should be no room for confusion about 12 volt this or that, or secret access points. The average person needs to just open the dam door period without any further thought. That's it! This needs to be fool proof!

This is what I said before. If we have to "train" people on how to open a door, it's a problem.

Did they ever resolve this? I’m curious if Ford stepped up - I will say I’m pretty disappointed in general.

Yup, I suspect that is indeed the case.
I don't blame them. No physical harm done, just compensate financially. If harm done, then criminal persecution.

Criminal “persecution”? Seriously?

Whatever is appropriate, I meant. You are right, criminal would have to prove gross negligence, I think. I guess just a much higher settlement.
