We are on a road trip unfortunately not in the GT. I was working up a route in Apple Maps for today’s travels but forgot to change from the default MME profile. It only offered me a single route along the interstate even though the coast route is well within the range of the car.
I assume a full charge leaving from our current location.
Granted there are few charging opportunities on this route but that shouldn’t matter.
When I switched to the other car profile the app offered both routes.

No question here just something to think about.

I lost track. It worked when you switched to the MME you’re not driving?

This is meant as a routing comparison between non EV profile and the EV profile in ACP. Maybe it could be worded better.

I drove the non EV route plan and paid attention to charging opportunities. There were at least 4 that the EV route did not offer. ( it did offer any route but to go back to the freeway and travel on it).

This all started because I forgot to turn off the EV profile when I did a route. I would like to take the car on this trip sometime. ABRP also missed the same chargers and PS says they are available.

Then there is a reason they aren't offered. Provide the route.

Apple Maps EV routing takes into account your current charge level (or the last known charge level when it last connected to the car). It doesn’t assume you leave home at 100%.

Also you select preferred charge networks when you set it up, so perhaps there were not enough chargers in your preferred networks on the other route?

Generally, the EV aware route planning does a good job of taking into account many other variables besides just looking at distance from point A to B. So if it doesn’t offer a certain route it’s likely for a reason.
