iPhone doesn’t get hot anymore while charging

I had the Apple Maps GPS positioning go nuts after a couple hours.

The phone was on the charging mat and very warm.

I was using the standard Spigen tough armor case.

I switched to the Spigen MagSafe Tough Armor case. The iPhone 12 Pro Max does not become hot while on the charging mat anymore.

I’m hoping this will fix the odd ball GPS issues as well.

interesting. i have this Pitaka magsafe-compatible case that i really like, but maybe i should just take it off and see if the phone charges without overheating. as it stands i just don't use the chargers.
