Perhaps not, but their salaries could have been directed towards more engineers to ensure the stupid Carrier heat pump didn’t infringe on useful frunk space ?

That’s a bit of a strawman. I don’t think anyone is suggesting that a software engineer could work on improving the suspension.

But could Ford divert its software resources away from stupid things like developing Karaoke and instead work on one of dozens of items frequently requested in the Super Poll? Yes, Ford could and should do that.

Now, this is somewhat hypothetical because the truth is likely that Karaoke is just some dumb little third party app that Ford signed a contract to install on all the cars in exchange for some money, and part of that contract requires Ford to promote it to people on its email lists.

It probably ranks above “Sing Along with Mitch Miller” as a feature. Thank Ford for small favors.

It would be usefull to karaoke the Rick Roll song and cry a bit on the inside that out of ALL things they could give us, Ford though: "you know what? Let's make them happy, let's give them karaoke*".
* Only when parked though, because it can't be too nice.

I bought my MME last July and am loving it. There are issues brought up in these forums that I have as well. Some relatively minor, others a bit more significant. A lot of them are more informational in nature (I want to be able to see <thing> on my display).

The fact that I have received 2 separate emails from ford about “Karaoke improvements” seems ridiculous. This seems like an odd thing to be directing resources to.

Its all a song and dance about nothing?

Like how they should be getting rid of this annoying “feature” in the middle of my view screen!

You would think they would have looked at the screens int the Fusion Hybrid, Fusion Energy or the Lincoln MKZ Hybrid. SOOO much better use of a smaller screen, AND you could actually CHOOSE what you wanted displayed in the left and right portions of the screen (the center section was the speedometer)
To be perfectly honest my 2018 Chevrolet Bolt had a better display and it was SMALLER.

Yeah, I was still have a Fusion Energi and it’s surprising how much better the IPC is than the MME even though it’s much older tech. Ford could have done so much more and offered some customization. It’s a real missed opportunity. It would be interesting to hear the thinking from a designer.

Actually, they did get rid of the mach-e silhouette when in no adas mode. You just have to buy a new one. Problem solved.
