Hi,

Happy owner here of a Ford Mustang Mach E 2024 Select RWD standard range. I do have a question, and hopefully someone can help me out. I’m currently using a trial of the BlueCruise functionality, which is working fine. Since I’m suffering from muscle strains, I find the BlueCruise functionality relaxing. I’m under the impression this vehicle also has a (non-automatic) Lane Change Assist functionality. However, I’ve noticed this functionality does not work. Not only that, an option to enable/disable Lane Change Assist seems to be missing altogether in the Sync settings (Sync settings > Driver assistance > Cruise Control > Adaptive Cruise Control).

In the Cruise Control menu, there are toggles for “Lane Centering With Hands-Free”, “Activation Prompts” and “Predictive Speed Assist”, but no other options. I would expect a “Lane Change Assist” option here.

Does anyone know what could be the cause of this, a software bug perhaps? Or does this specific model not include this functionality? According to ChatGPT, it should be available on every Mach E model, but it might be hallucinating.

The car's firmware has been updated to the latest version (10.2.0).

Furthermore, I’ve also noticed I’m missing the interior motion sensor enable/disable option in the SYNC software.

I'm wondering if anybody has expert knowledge on this or what features are available on which model. Thanks!

Hello from Germany. I am using bc as well. Ford decides afaik that europe gets bc version 1.1 E. Maybe it’s er eu commission that did not give the go yet for assistes lane change. 1.1 E is 1.2 w/o ALC However i am grieving to get the details together to activate alc. anything is at your own risk and I do not recommend anything to do or not to do. With Forscan it might be possible to partially activate it. I ve got it so far that alc almost works with my car. It gets activated by using the turnsignal The Assistent begins zu prepare but then u have to give the steeringwheel a tiny push to initiate the change which it does automated. One detail ist still missing. Do you know anyone in NL that has ALC working with BC ? That would be a great help for my research.

Danke schön my German friend. I was a bit surprised by this and contacted my Ford dealer, which confirmed this via Ford Europe. Lane Change Assist does not work in Europe. That’s a bummer. It’s my own fault, I didn’t do the proper research.

Modification through the OBD2 port might be an option, but I will not try this since it might void insurance on your car and/or your body and/or your passengers if this functionality results in an accident or perhaps even if an accident occurs at all. The insurance company might blame it on modified firmware. Personally, I wouldn’t recommend it, though I certainly understand your curiousity.
