I was in stop-and-go traffic yesterday for about 20 minutes or so and had the adaptive cruise and lane keeping system on. I noticed that the computer never asked me to grasp the wheel while I was below 10mph. I am wondering if that was just a coinidence or how the system is supposed to operate.

The manual states that lane keeping only works above 40 mph and that has been my experience. The side bars turn gray when it is disabled.

I mean the blue bubble. Mine still shows and corrects itself in traffic jams when both the cruise control and lane keeping are active.

Lane assist is speed limited. Lane centering works from zero.

I have not tested this enough, but I have noticed something along the same. At least re-starting from a stop will reset the counter. It is anyway very difficult to detect if hands are on the wheel at slow speeds since there is no steering change to detect the drag on.. if that is some way to explain it. On my previous car (Ford Focus) with lane centering I always had to move the wheel actively when driving at low speed with it enabled to keep the message from appearing, so I think that one did require it, but I did think about it one time when driving the mach-e that I found in strange it was not giving any warning at low speed.

I noticed this as well recently while in traffic in Los Angeles. I didn't pay specific attention to the speed but I did notice with stop and go I wasn't being prompted to put my hands on the wheel.

Which was great because now I was able to flick off people on both sides of the car....
