Fall is here and it's a great time of year. However, I have my car set to Precondition the cabin before work. Well yesterday was a little chilly outside (59 degrees) and the insulated garage was (64 degrees) and my Preconditioning was still set to "Cool" instead of "Heat" or "Medium". So when I jumped in yesterday I had to immediately throw on the heater. So yes after I got to work I trudged into the voluminous menu and switched it to precondition the cabin to heat.
But here is my real question. A few days before this happened I had remote started my car and once again it was "Cool" outside. I was Pleasantly surprised to see my MME had turned on my heated seat as well as my heated steering wheel. I had not turned them on since last winter, so I know it was not just resuming what was previously on. So, I assume the car recognized the outside temp and adjusted accordingly. So if that capability exist with in the car; why not just have the car do that for the preconditioning? (I know 1st world problems and all but still).
