Tesla didn’t skip testing, their customers do the testing, and QA and QC, all wrapped in one.

Tesla buyers come armed with a long, detailed QC checklist when they pick up their car.

Knowledgeable or repeat Tesla buyers come with that. As they become more mainstream new buyers tend to be clueless to this and are left holding the bag. Not a good way to run your business.

I have to say, this makes me sad. It doesn’t induce laughter at this poor decision by Tesla. Such facilities are bad for the adoption of BEVs by the masses.
