HI All. After the lightning strike a couple weeks back, Ford and insurance have decided to total the car. As a reminder the house was hit while the car was charging and the surge knocked out the cars ability to charge, although it still drove OK with no warning lights. Ford engineers came up with a fix that was about $8000 but no guarantee. CoPart is going to the dealer to pick up the vehicle--a GT Performance in great shape. I LOVED that car. Getting a new GT Rally in the coming days. I have some winter tires with one winter on them in Massachusetts if anyone is interested. Thanks for everyones thoughts/concerns.

Omg that's rough, but a good outcome for you. Thanks for the update.

Just curious, could you share details of the proposed fix? If you have a sheet I can interpret it.

Also a reminder to everyone to get a whole home surge protector, and pause charging during thunderstorms if possible.
