Hi ,
I have a long drive planned next week with family, about 800 miles. I have gotten to recall update on my car but am still nervous hearing about failures post update. What if any precautions should be taken before and during the drive or things to avoid ?

Planning to use DCFC only if needed, should be able to leverage L2 (if possible)

Don’t accelerate hard. Don’t drive fast after DCFC. If you can avoid long ascents (I know, you’re at the mercy of the roads), avoid them. ??

Since you have the 22S41 update, you should be able to drive the car if it detects damage to the HVBJB. As a precaution, open a window when you park. ?ā€ā™‚?

I just came back from a 350 mile round trip post update and had no issues.

I charged to 100% on my EVSE before departing, I DCFC’d up to 91% twice at the destination and topped it off to 95% on an L2 before departing for home.

I let the BC and ICC drive keeping acceleration and breaking moderate.

I'd know where some dealers are on your route but with the recall software, there's much less (but non-zero) chance of needing a tow. You can also get a flat tire, have another car hit you, or have your kid ? from your driving, so no adventures are without risk!

I’d add that it seems clear that if you have a damaged contactor detected, you can probably drive your car home or to your destination, just slower.

Thanks, I normally use bluecruise all the time for highway drives anyway. I was just trying to be vary about DCFC, maybe charge slowly or use L2 as much as possible

Thanks for all the comments... Hopefully will never need anything ? 8 weeks ago, did a 1000+ drive , with 5 people , plus luggage, driving on I95 at 80mph, blissfully unaware of any recall or issues

Don't worry about it. The failure rate is very low. Just drive it like you did before. The only suggestion I have is to avoid wide open throttle when the car is hot. But it doesn't sound like you will do that on your trip anyway.
